Strategic Community Development Fund (SCIF) (CLOSED)
SCIF Application Workshop Presentation
The Division of Housing and Community Development (HCD) administers Federal and City funds for programs that carry out its mission and while many programs are carried out through HCD directly, others are contracted out to eligible organizations on a competitive basis. The Strategic Community Investment Fund (SCIF) provides an opportunity for organizations and agencies to submit competitive applications. The funds available on a competitive basis are awarded to eligible nonprofit, faith-based, and other organizations to implement community and economic development programs. The funds through this process are primarily available for programs that benefit Memphis’s low- and moderate-income persons.
HCD will start accepting applications for SCIF at 8:00 a.m. on December 5, 2022, and will close on February 3, 2023, at 4 p.m. Programs available for competitive grant application submissions for FY23 will include the following programs:
- Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG)
- Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA)
- HOME-Funded Tenant-Based Rental Assistance (HOME-TBRA)
- Neighborhood Partnership Grant (NPG)
- Community Service Grant (CSG)
HCD will host a pre-application workshop on Monday, December 5th at 1 p.m. that will take place at the Benjamin Hooks Library, 3030 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38111. All potential applicants are encouraged to attend.
Note for previous awardees: Spent down funds from prior fiscal years will be considered during the FY24 review process.
