Lick Creek Drainage Masterplan Study
The Lick Creek study area roughly corresponds to the Midtown Memphis area bounded by Jackson Avenue/Vollintine Avenue on the north, Hollywood Street/Alicia Drive on the east, the Cooper-Young neighborhood on the south, and Belvedere Boulevard/Cleveland Street/Stonewall Street on the west. It was the first comprehensive drainage masterplan study completed by the City and serves as a “pilot project.” to demonstrate the effectiveness at examining flooding solutions on a watershed-wide level. Since the study’s completion in 2006, several improvements have been constructed, which have reduced the risk of flooding within the study area.
