Wellness

The City of Memphis Employee Clinic is free for full-time and part-time employees, eligible retirees and dependents age 6 and up, and offers medical treatment for life’s most common ailments such as ear infections, sore throats, allergies, flu and more. 

Healthcare

We have great healthcare with low premiums and deductibles.  The City reduced employee-only premiums by 30%, making us one of the most competitive in the area.

Benefits

We provide a free $10,000 Death Benefit plus one month of wages for all full-time and part-time employees.  A $5,000 Death benefit is provided for retirees

Short-term disability coverage pays up to 70% of wages

College Incentive Pay for Police and Fire

Commissioned employees and managers in Police Services and Fire Services can earn up to an additional 7.5% of base salary in College Incentive Pay based on college coursework completed.

Retirement

New employees may participate in a Hybrid Retirement Plan that provides a guaranteed annuity payment at retirement by combining contributions made by the City of Memphis and the employee. The hybrid retirement plan has the potential for greater returns based on investment performance and a guaranteed annuity payout at retirement.

Police and Fire employees receive a higher contribution into that plan from the City.
