Beginning Monday, September 19, at about 9 a.m., Beale Street (between Riverside Drive and South Main Street), South Front Street (between Dr. M.L.K., Jr. Avenue and Peabody Place), and Wagner Place (between Dr. M.L.K., Jr. Avenue and Union Avenue) will be closed to through traffic to allow the contractor to facilitate installation of storm water utilities associated with the Downtown Mobility Center project. This closure will be in effect until around 6 p.m. on Monday, October 3.
Motorists who normally use these sections of Beale Street, South Front Street and Wagner Place are advised to use an alternate route during the duration of the closure. Delays are to be expected.
The signed detour route will make use of Riverside Dr., Union Ave., Peabody Place, Main St. and MLK.
Access to adjacent properties will be maintained for local traffic during construction.
