ParkMobile 6-month pilot program initiated to promote prime parking turnover

The City of Memphis, in coordination with the Downtown Memphis Commission, is partnering with ParkMobile and Premium Parking to provide mobile parking payments on select city blocks in the Edge District and Downtown.  The pilot program will begin on March 15, 2021, with the initial focus on Monroe Avenue between Danny Thomas and Marshall and Front St. between Adams and Poplar.

The ParkMobile pilot was initiated to promote the turnover of prime parking spaces for local businesses while offering drivers a safe and convenient way to pay. Payment for parking will be required Mondays – Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Courtesy citations will be issued during the first two weeks of the pilot period to allow citizens to become familiar with the change in on-street parking.

The ParkMobile app is available for both iPhone and Android devices and can be accessed on a mobile web browser for those who do not want to download an app. To pay for parking, users enter the zone number posted on signs around the parking spot, selects the amount of time needed, and touch the “Start Parking” button to begin the session. The user can also extend the time of the parking session on their mobile device.
