Memphis Youth Got Talent kicks off November 30

Memphis Youth Got Talent kicks off November 30

The Office of Youth Services will host the annual Memphis Youth Got Talent Virtual Edition on November 30 at 7 p.m. on the Memphis Public Library channel. Participants entered a one minute submission showcasing their talents. 10 finalists were selected to perform in the talent show while gaining the experience of working in safe, professional environment and in front of a camera. First, second, and third place winners will win cash prizes.

This talent show is designed to showcase the talent in Memphis and kickstart the application period for the Memphis Ambassadors Program and the MPLOY Youth Summer Experience Program. The Memphis Ambassadors Program (MAP) is a year-round enrichment program that engages 400-500 youth across the city of Memphis in grades 8-12.  MPLOY offers youth and young adults ages 14-22 skills training, entry-level positions, and internship opportunities in various career paths. Applicants are chosen through a lottery system in February and compensated based on age group and education level.  To be eligible for MPLOY Youth Summer Experience Program or Memphis Ambassadors Program (MAP), prospective applicants must be a Memphis resident and apply online at cityofmemphisyouth.org. The application is available from December 1 – December 31.
