Extreme Heat Service Update June 29, 2023

The City of Memphis is asking residents to take extra precautions to stay cool while their power ­­­­­may be out. We are reminding residents that they can find relief from the heat at libraries and senior centers during normal business hours. If you are still experiencing power outages, and due to the extreme heat index, the City of Memphis will operate cooling centers:

24-hour Cooling Center:
Frayser-Raleigh Senior Center, 3985 Egypt Central Rd. from Thursday, June 29, starting at 6 p.m. until further notice. MATA has a dedicated route to Frayser-Raleigh during normal business hours.

June 29 from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. at the
Greenlaw Community Center, 190 Mill Ave.

Cooling centers with water distribution will be open through June 30 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the following locations:
Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church – 7289 Highway 64
For the Kingdom – 4100 Raleigh Millington

Residents who are experiencing homelessness:
