City preparing to move into second pass storm debris removal

City preparing to move into second pass storm debris removal

City of Memphis emergency contractor crews are close to completing the first pass for storm debris removal. A second pass through neighborhoods will begin the first week of April. The contractor is approximately 95% finished with the first pass. As we accelerate storm debris collections, the City’s contractor has increased equipment across the project to help expedite the removal process to ensure storm debris is removed from all neighborhoods.

An announcement will be made ahead of the second and third passes regarding the collection schedule. To help facilitate the process, please bring all remaining storm debris curbside for collection as soon as possible.

As a reminder, storm debris is being removed during non-bulk weeks by a contractor under our emergency services plan instead of via 311 service requests or regular collections. For more information, please see our notice at https://www.memphistn.gov/government/solid-waste-management/storm-debris-removal/

The City and its contractors are making every effort to provide safe and efficient storm debris collection. We appreciate your patience.
