The City’s Public Works Division is closely monitoring weather conditions based on reports of the potential of wintry mix conditions from the National Weather Service. In anticipation, crews are on standby to respond. We are also communicating with local emergency management operations as part of the City’s coordinated preparation efforts. It is our goal to ensure the City continues to be ready and well prepared during inclement weather conditions.
City crews’ primary focus during wintry conditions is to first treat major streets with inclines/declines, as well as any bridges and overpasses. Secondly, crews will treat the remaining major streets on an as-needed basis. Emergency service providers like hospitals, police precincts and fire stations will also receive special consideration during inclement weather.
The City is reminding citizens to use caution when traveling on roadways during severe weather and to please give yourself extra time on the road.
