Warming Centers
There are two warming center available for residents, the Hospitality Hub, location 590 Washington Avenue and Dave Wells Community Center, location at 915 Chelsea Avenue.
- Hospitality Hub – 110 currently, 124 overnight
- Dave Wells – 106 currently, 106 total over night
Warming centers will remain open until further notice. For transportation, please contact the Office of Emergency Management at 901-297-1680.
MLGW

Memphis Light, Gas and Water Boiled Water Advisory is still in effect until further notice and includes all MLGW water customers. For more information, https://www.mlgw.com/news/MLGW_BOIL_WATER_2022

Solid Waste/Garbage, recycling and outside the cart collections:
City crews will be working overtime throughout the week following Christmas to restore services. We ask for your patience as service will not be restored fully until Saturday, December 31, 2022. Customers experiencing delays are asked to leave their garbage and recycle carts at the curb until collected. Public Works:
Snow and Ice Operations will continue for at least the next 24 hours (as of Saturday morning). This is a continuous operation and the city is using all available assets to manage the Public Works response to severe winter weather.

Traffic Engineering:
- 12 Traffic lights remain out of service due to power outages. This number will fluctuate as MLGW continues to restore power.

Safety Tips for Traffic Signal Outage:
- Traffic Signal Lights with outages should be treated as a four way stop
- Flashing Red Lights should be treated as a stop sign
- Flashing Yellow Lights – Drivers should proceed with caution only when traffic permits
Memphis Police Department
Crashes are down from yesterday with a total of 124 motor vehicle crashes in the last 24 hours. MPD’s Inclement Weather policy for crashes is still in effect; meaning a minor crash with no injuries or wrecker needed or if no physical impairment is present, drivers should exchange information. You can also report crashes to any of the nine police stations within 48 hours of the crash. Additionally, Move Over Memphis. Please watch out for first responders when they are out of their vehicles working traffic events.
Memphis Animal Services- Pet Safety
It is still too cold for pets to be left outside, even in dog houses. Bring them inside at least until Monday to avoid the death of your pet and (potential criminal charges).Memphis Animal Services is AT CAPACITY. If you find a lost pet, if you can, please hang onto to it while you look for the owner. If your neighbor has a dog outside, try speaking with them first before calling Animal Control as our resources are stretched thin.
MATA
MATA is continuing to operate on a “Sunday Service schedule (10 a.m. – 7 p.m.) “ throughMonday, December 26th. MATA has also transported over 200 people to and from warming centers and will continue to pick up as long as the emergency warming centers are open. This is organized through the Office of Emergency Management and is separate from the regular daily service. This is not curb to curb service and once citizens are at the warming center, MATA will transport patrons back to a transit center.
