-Treasury Office

As a result of inclement weather, Treasury Office payments will only be accepted electronically.

-Community Centers/Senior Centers 

All Memphis Parks facilities are closed today due to inclement weather.

-Memphis Public Libraries 

All Memphis Public Libraries are closed today.

– City Clerk’s Office and City Courts

Due to inclement weather, the City Court Clerk’s Office and City Courts are closed.

-Public Works:

Ice and Snow Operations will continue for at least the next 48 hours.   Crews will focus on treating major streets with inclines/declines and bridges and overpasses. Teams will then treat the remaining major roads on an as-needed basis. Emergency service providers such as hospitals, police, and fire precincts will also receive special consideration during inclement weather. This is a continuous operation, and the city is using all available assets to manage the forecast for server winter weather.

Public Works Snow and Ice Operation include:

  • 14  sand/salt/brine trucks are treating city roads
  • To report a  downed tree after-hours, call OEM at 901-636-2525

-Warming Center:

Greenlaw Community Center will run until further notice.

One hundred seven guests were sheltered at the Greenlaw Community Center at 190 Mill Avenue on Tuesday, January 31.

An Emergency Warming Center is a temporary facility for those needing a place for respite from the cold weather. The warming center is not intended to replace the services provided by a shelter. Openings are available at local shelters for anyone who requires a full-service protection. Those seeking shelter accommodations are encouraged to seek assistance from our partners at the Union Mission (Men’s Shelter), 901-526-8403, or The Salvation Army (Women or women and children), the 24-hour MIFA hotline at 901-529-4545 or 211.

-MLGW:

Due to inclement weather, MLGW Community  Offices will be closed today. Customers can use My Account on MLGW’s secure website to check balances, make payment arrangements, and check the status of an outage. MLGW’s Call Center will remain open.

Traffic Engineering

Currently, we are not experiencing any traffic light outages. . However, we have a few locations that are flashing.

  • The traffic light flashes red in both directions at Mitchell and Horn Lake.
  • Currently, the traffic light on University at that intersection is flashing red, and the traffic light on N. Parkway is flashing yellow.

–Memphis Animal Service (MAS)

The law requires a doghouse and access to clean food and water during life-threatening temperatures, but when temperatures are dangerously hot or dangerously cold, you have to do more than that. You have to bring them inside.

– Solid Waste/Garbage, recycling, and outside-the-cart collections:

Customers are asked to present their carts on their scheduled collection day. City and contractor crews will evaluate route conditions daily and restore services as soon as they can be done safely. We ask for patience as some routes may not be restored until Saturday, February 4, 2023. Customers experiencing delays are asked to leave their garbage and recycle carts at the curb until collected.

–  Memphis Housing Authority (MHA)

Due to the inclement weather today and overnight, which will result in potentially hazardous road conditions, Memphis Housing Authority’s central office will be closed.

-Memphis International Airport:

Many airlines have canceled or delayed flights around the country due to snow and ice. Be sure to check your airline before heading to the airport. You can keep up with all MEM flight statuses on our website here https://flymemphis.com/flight-status/

-MATA:

Due to severe winter weather and road closures, the Memphis Area Transit Authority (MATA) will operate as follows:

• Fixed Route services are suspended.

• MATAplus will only make life-sustaining trips.

. • Transit Centers will be open from 6 AM – 8 PM.

• On–Demand services are suspended.

• Trolley services are suspended.
