Annual Housing & Community Development grant applications to be accepted beginning December 5, 2022 

The Division of Housing and Community Development(HCD) is soliciting proposals for the Strategic Community Investment Fund (SCIF) grant programs beginning Monday, December 5, 2022. HCD grants provide funding to local nonprofit organizations to assist with activities such as preventing homelessness, emergency housing, domestic violence, supportive services, neighborhoods beautification projects, etc.

Programs available for competitive grant application submissions for FY24 will include the following City and federally funded programs: 

  • Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG)
  • Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA)
  • HOME-Funded Tenant-Based Rental Assistance(HOME-TBRA)
  • Neighborhood Partnership Grant (NPG)
  • Community Service Grant (CSG) 

The Strategic Community Investment Fund (SCIF) is a competitive funding process that provides the opportunity for the City, through HCD, to support a wide range of community-based projects. The SCIF process identifies local programs and projects that directly benefit Memphis neighborhoods and citizens. FY23 saw almost $7 millionin grants and loans distributed to local nonprofit organizations.

Applications for all grant programs will be available beginning Monday, December 5, 2022, at 8:00 a.m. All applications must be submitted electronically by 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2023.
