Accelerate Memphis website launches

Through Accelerate Memphis, the City of Memphis will issue $200 million in bonds to facilitate catalytic community projects intended to accelerate its growth by improving quality of life, driving equity and inclusion, improving connectivity, and solving stubborn problems that are deeper than any single capital budget can solve.

And now the project has a home on the web: AccelerateMemphis.com

Through AccelerateMemphis.com, users can learn about the project and how proceeds in Accelerate Memphis bonds will be used, including in neighborhood and park improvements and revitalizing citywide assets. Users can also learn about how specific neighborhoods across Memphis will benefit from the project.

“This is a plan about Memphians—the individuals young and old, black and white and everyone who makes our city unique and such a gift to rest of the world. I’m so excited about these projects, and I hope you come back to visit this site often as we will be constantly updating it with our progress,” said Mayor Jim Strickland.

Accelerate Memphis is guided by Memphis 3.0, which is the first comprehensive plan in 40 years and was drafted with input from thousands of Memphians on what they want their neighborhoods to look like over the next 20 years.
